The thought of gaining employment in a new country may feel daunting and there are many obstacles you may face. This module has been designed to help you understand the main obstacles you may encounter, along with helping you overcome them to gain employment and have the chance you deserve of developing a successful career in your new country.
Learning Objectives
This module has been designed to help you overcome the obstacles you may face when trying to gain employment as a disadvantaged, immigrant, migrant or refugee women in a foreign country.
In this module, you will learn how to structure your CV, as well as how to address any gaps in your CV due to moving country. The module will also help you to prepare for an interview, as well as giving you an understanding of the job and office etiquette in your new country.
There is also a focus on confidence building and how to overcome the gender barrier in the workplace. The aim of incorporating all of these items in to this module is to provide you with the knowledge you need, as well as increasing your self-confidence, to help you gain employment within your new country. This will also result in integration and social inclusion.
By the end of this module, we hope you feel you have gained the vital skills required to integrate and gain employment in your new or host country.
