Banking vocabulary, all you will need to know (part III)

ATMs are electronic banking outlets that you can find in many different locations. If you have a bank card, you can use these machines to take out money directly from your account. If the machine is not owned by your bank, you may be charged a fee (usually between €2-€4) per transaction.

These are special four-digit codes (called a ‘PIN’ number) that allow you access and use your bank card to take out money and pay for things. Your PIN must be kept a secret (known only to you) so other people cannot have access to your money.
